ZType: free online typing game
ZType trains your typing speed (WPM) and accuracy. Words fall from the top of the screen and you type them before they cross the red line. It runs on desktop, tablet and phone, with no download or sign-up.
How to play
- Choose a mode. Start Endless for unlimited levels, or Sprint for a 60-second score race. Open Settings to change difficulty, word set, speed and text size.
- Type a falling word. Type its first letter to lock on, then finish the word. Wrong letters are ignored and reset your combo.
- Switch targets. Press Tab or Esc while locked to release the word and choose another.
- Catch gold words. Finishing a gold word freezes every word for three seconds.
- Survive. Words that reach the red line cost a life in Endless mode, or points in Sprint mode.

Yes. The layout adapts to phones, tablets and desktops. A physical keyboard is fastest, but the on-screen keyboard works too.
Can I change the difficulty and words?
Yes. Open Settings to pick easy, normal or hard, choose a word set (mixed, general, code, nature, space), adjust speed and text size, and toggle sound and effects.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Settings, best scores and statistics are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
